Grilled Buffalo Chicken

Who doesn’t love grilled food at this time of year? You will love this one even more when you see how simple it is to make. This is my family’s favorite grilled chicken recipe. It may not sound all that special, but please try it. It really does taste amazing! I have made this many times and always get rave reviews.

Recipe
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
½ c ranch dressing
¼ c franks red hot sauce*

Before marinating, I like to cut my chicken breasts in half lengthwise if they are thick. This makes them easier to grill and exposes more of the marinade to the chicken. Marinate chicken in ranch dressing and hot sauce for between 3 hours and overnight. Grill until your have those pretty grill marks on the outside and it's cooked through on the inside. It’s that simple!

Additional notes:

*Franks red hot sauce is a very mild hot sauce, please don't substitute with another hot sauce.

I have experimented with different amounts of ranch dressing and Franks Red Hot sauce and I find this to be the perfect balance. I know it sounds like a lot of hot sauce, but please try it this way before cutting back. The hot sauce doesn’t make it taste hot, but tangy. If you don’t add enough, it won’t have that special flavor.

If you don’t have a grill, or the weather isn’t cooperating, you can use a stovetop grill. I have tried it in a skillet and it’s really not the same. Our grill is having issues, so you can see I was forced to use my grill pan. Having the grill pan allows us to be able to enjoy this favorite year round.

  1. A resounding vote of confidence on this post. Best chicken meal she makes, and that's saying a lot.

  2. Have you tried freezing this? I usually freeze my chicken in the marinade, then it is ready to cook when it is defrosted. Can't wait to try this!

  3. Yes, I often add the marinade to my bag of chicken when I bring in home from the grocery store and put it into the freezer. It freezes well and yes very convenient. Thanks for stopping by.:)
